Pangean Orchestra - Phoenix
Where it all began
The original home of the Pangean Orchestra, World Maestro Colin O'Donohoe assembled an unparalleled group of musicians that culminated in a performance that blended music, dance, and culture...all delivering a strong message of peace.
But there was more in store for the orchestra...Colin brought the concept to New York City, one of the music capitals of the world!
Pangean Orchestra - New York
The Pangean Orchestra had their debut performance in NYC at the “Make Music New York” festival. An open air performance on the Hudson River exposed New Yorkers to a mix of instruments seldom seen together, and delighted attendees. The orchestra’s stay in New York also allowed World Maestro, Colin O’Donohoe a chance to connect with, learn from and perform with musical genres from samba, to scratch to Italian and Irish folk music.
Even though NYC is one of the music capitals of the world, the stay was short. The overwhelming supply of musicians and venues, didn’t allow the Pangean Orchestra to stand out and spread it’s message of “peace through the universal language of music” as widely as it could.
Pangean Orchestra - Turkey
Current Home for the Pangean Orchestra
Long before the beginning of the Pangean Orchestra, Colin had the chance to meet a number of musicians from Turkey, and he was moved by their music and their passion. After much learning, he realized that being near the historic heart of the world, Istanbul would be the perfect place to breathe a new breath of life into the Pangean Orchestra.
Currently, the World Maestro is working with a group of musicians from the Middle East and Europe, reassembling the orchestra a half-world away from where it began. Stay tuned for more information on upcoming performances, musician gatherings and open calls for musicians to be a part of this new evolution in music.
